Description

"Outside a nearby town you can see a pile of what seems like a colorful fabrics. Someone is huddled within a thick cloak beside their table of colorful produce. As you come closer they notice you and wave you over. They clearly seem excited by the very fact that someone is perusing their wares. From the dragonoid you learn that the northern dragonoid folk take great pride in their colorful cloaks and robes which they wear during the winter cycle. He explains that all of these robes were made by him and his mother, indeed the northern dragonoids have almost ancient techniques in different families to dye and craft these robes, all of which look unique and equally visually stunning. He explains that this tradition is based on their celebration of winter, these robes acting as sort of celebratory clothing of sorts. It seems he could talk your ear off about his merchandise and as you try one of them on you notice how incredibly heavy they are. Someone could easily spend an entire night outside with just one of these. The dragonoid almost offers you it for free, but unfortunately his business has not been doing so well as the humans in this town do not have such high regard to his robes as his own kind do."

Those turquoise dragonides are my favourite arts made by you so I might be slightly taking sides here. With that said, let's jump to the critique.
By only looking at this piece, I can imagine a whole tribe of turquoise skinned people, hiding in the depths of tundra. Your vision is what makes this so special and thought-provoking. The hand gesture invites someone to look at the goods, but eyes of the merchant are looking at something above him. Maybe someone flying? I don't know, my point is that you made my imagination create much more than you actually showed. For someone else the view will be different but it'll still be there. When it comes to the technique, I really like that the piece is not razor-sharp. It both builds up the mood and imitates the viev we see on a snowy day.
As my last thought I wanted to point out that the "impact" category in critique rating, at least in my opinion, isn't just about the emotions I feel when experiencing the art but also what my imagination produces while experiencing it. You got my imagination hooked into the scenery, making mountains, forests and dragonid settlements. You made me want to use it in storytelling games, you made me want to write stories and make my own arts about it and that's whys it's a big 5 stars.
