Description
Tried out a bit different style with this one, I quite like the energy of the sketchy lines alongside the paint. I may have to explore this style a bit more.
"The story of the wolf mother is a tale of a saint who became the shame of the church. Through he pious service to the gods and people she achieved a saintly status. She would spread the kindness and faith of her church to new lands and become a central figure of the church, known by many. Then she disappeared from public eye, becoming reclusive, hidden away by the church. She was fostered behind closed doors as she seemed to have become cursed by some force. Only a select few inside the church knew of this as her deteriorating condition could give a bad impression to the people. In her feverish condition she grew more and more delusional, making her guardians believe a demon had possessed her through her prayers.
Eventually her delirious state turned into violence as abnormal changes began to appear. In the final days her guardians kept her more as a prisoner than as a patient as she looked less and less like her each passing day. They had tried everything to reverse these changes and bring her back, holy symbols, rituals, even medicine, but nothing seemed to work. Many began to question if she should be killed, but none wanted to kill someone who was and still was a saint. It is unclear how she managed to escape, but one thing was clear, the church had to find her before anyone could make a connection between her and the church.
Unfortunately, despite many inquisitors and hunters she was not captured. The church of course wont admit this and she is said to have died in her sanctuary of old age. but in some circles she is known as the patron saint of the hunted and abandoned due to this fable. More importantly, she is recognized as the source of lycantropy in the world."
